Doctorates conferred on 7 people

pro-chancellor of Mangalore University Aravinda Limbavali conferred honourary doctorates on seven persons during the university's 27th convocation held here on Wednesday
Those conferred the D Lit (doctor of literature) degrees include legal experts B V Acharya and Y M Chandrashekara Sharma, educationists M K Panduranga Setty, and N Vinay Hegde, chancellor of Nitte University, numismatist M Mukunda Prabhu, builder and philanthropist P Dayananda Pai. Limbavali also conferred the D Sc (doctor of science) degree on chief controller of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) A Sivathanu Pillai on the occasion.
