BMS results

ACROSS the board, Sebastopol was far too strong for Ballarat Memorial Sports in lawn bowls' answer to Twenty20 cricket, the Super 6s, last night.

Against a team boasting Northern Ireland gun Jeremy Henry and Australian silver tier member Neville Rodda, it was always going to be uphill for BMS, who lost all three games.

Rodda was too good for Graeme Inglis, cruising to a 2-0 victory.

Sebas's triples fought it out for a tight win, and the Kookaburras' pairs had a comfortable win.

Henry was pleased with his first outing in Ballarat.

"It was a good start," he said.

"I wasn't expecting to play tonight _ I only arrived yesterday.

"There's room for improvement."

The ease with which he adjusted to the greens and weather _ it is about 1C in Scotland at the moment _ will have many teams worried.

His opposing skipper in the pairs, Jeff Ryan, said it was "nerve-racking to walk on the green with him".

"We enjoyed the outing," Ryan said.

"We should've done better but the bowls didn't do what they should've."

Bowls' answer to Roy and HG, radio personality Ekke Martini, said: "I think (Henry) needs a bit of coaching though _ he's got an awful delivery."

In other results, Victoria edged past City Oval, while Ballarat defeated Ballarat East.
