Adnan Sami booked for harassment

In the news for his tremendous weight loss, Pakistani singer Adnan Sami has hit a wrong note. On the night of January 29, Sami’s wife Sabah Galadari registered a complaint with the Oshiwara police station against her husband for harassing and abusing her.

Kitan T Sonone, Senior Police Inspector, Oshiwara Police Station, says, “Galadari said that Sami abused her during the course of an argument. Sami even asked her to get out of the house.” Since Sami had accompanied Galadari to the police station, the police warned him against such behaviour.

“We have issued a non-cognisable offence against Sami. While there will be no police protection that will be provided to Galadari, we have assured her that help is always on call,” adds Sonone.

The alleged incident took place at Sami’s Lokhandwala apartment. The singer has previously been married to Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar but that marriage did not last for long. He then married Dubai-based Sabah Galadari in 2001. However, his union with Galadari too lasted for just a year-and-a-half.

But after three years of being divorced, a much thinner Sami and Galadari reunited and got married again in Mumbai. Reports suggest that Galadari had been living with a friend for some time because of arguments with her husband. Sami did not like this arrangement and this is what led to the argument and consequent abuse. Sami remained unavailable for comment.
